“Firstly, there is a financial reason. Making brown paint you need to use an exact mix of primary colours, which makes it expensive. Secondly, it is perceived within the industry as an “unlucky colour” and has an association with 70s poor quality. By the way, the use of brown paint for many cars in the 70s was caused by a Ministry of Defence surplus: when the cold war began, military vehicles moved away from sandy-brown to green. The MoD sold the paint off cheap to Austin Morris. Much of this history is documented online. I cannot for the life of me think why this was actually researched.”
Så det så.
