Please see below the statement that was issued yesterday evening. As I said on the telephone this is a statement from the family and is not attributable to any member of the family. The statement is on Eva’s tragic illness and subsequently her state of mind at the time of the recent statements and emails that have been attributed to her. The family have no comment on the contents of the emails or statements made by Eva.

“Eva Rausing’s tragic illness has been well documented. The Rausing family tried to help her in her long battle with drugs, a battle which ultimately defeated her. Recent statements and emails attributed to her, reflect the illness she fought so hard to overcome. The Rausing family hope that Eva will be remembered for her lifetime work in helping other addicts, and in highlighting the dangers of drug addiction.”
